Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is playing scientist Bolivar Trask in X-Men Days Of Future Past and recently spoke about the role. As comicbook fans may be aware his character plays a key role in creating one of the most memorable and menacing threats the X-Men face, the giant robotic Sentinals.  However Dinklage is eager to stress that he didn’t simply wan to play the stereotypical villain

“He’s a man of science, he’s a man of invention. He actually sees what he’s doing as a good thing. [His ambition is] definitely blind and he’s quite arrogant. He’s strived all his life for a certain respect and attention.”

Given the alternate history story arc in the new sequel it’s perhaps unsurprising that Trask will find himself up against a real life iconic menacing figure… As Dinklage explains.

“He’s up against Richard Nixon, he’s got some hurdles.”
