Stephen King IT remake Still In Works
Plans for an updated version of Stephen King’s classic novel IT have resurfaced with Jayne Eyre director, Cary Fukunaga reportedly directing. In a recent interview, producer Dan Lin has announced that
“Cary Fukunaga is writing and directing Stephen King’s It for me, and I’m really excited for that. So I’m hoping that’ll be his next movie after the indie he’s shooting in Africa. I love what he did with True Detective. I think it’s a great sample for Stephen King’s It. So I’m really excited about that”
IT is the story of a group of children who, after defeating the titular monster join together again 25 years later to destroy it for good. Although it has never had a Hollywood adaptation, Tim Curry famously played the spine tingling clown in a two part Television Film in 1990.
Reports suggest that Fukunaga will begin work on the film after he finishes his Beasts Of No Nation with Idris Elba with high hopes that it could begin production this year.
