Jungle Book fans have not one but two fresh adaptations of the classic tale in the early stages of production. Disney have Jon Favreau lined up to direct their big screen re-imagining, while Warner Bros. and Ron Howard are working together on a rival project.

Disney has now officially struck first blood by reportedly landing Idris Elba as the suitably imposing voice of their villainous man eating tiger Shere Khan.
