At 8.30pm on Wednesday 30th July Joe Hill, renowned pavement artist, will be unveiling his latest work, a unique, specially commissioned piece of 3D, trompe l’oeil, anamorphic street artwork based around the new British feature film ‘BLACKWOOD’.
Joe will be creating the installation at West India Quay, adjacent to Canary Wharf, that will include a world first that will light up in the dark revealing a change of image. This spectacular piece of art will be absolutely huge and will welcome inter-action by the public, no doubt creating a massive stir. Joe’s most recent work was displayed at the Olympic Park to celebrate the two year anniversary of the 2012 Games but the ‘BLACKWOOD’ piece is set to put that in the shade with its ambition and size, the like of which has never before been seen in the UK.
‘BLACKWOOD’ is being released in cinemas around the UK on 1st August and stars of the film and some surprise guests will be in attendance at this very special launch event, including Sophia Myles and Paul Kaye, alongside the film’s director, Adam Wimpenny. The film is a psychological thriller with a ghostly twist which Empire described as “a British Sixth Sense” and this will be reflected in this incredible piece of 3D pavement art. It’s going to be an event not to be missed.
