Sony have officially cast Jack Black as the lead in their forthcoming Goosebumps movie, based around the bestselling children’s book series by R.L. Stine. The casting is perhaps unsurprising given that Jack Black’s Gulliver’s Travels director Rob Letterman has already been confirmed as director on the new project.

Having already been adapted into a successful 1990’s television series, the new film will attempt to combine a number of the familiar creepy tales by having Jack Black effectively play author R.L. Stine, with the writer’s spooky creations literally leaping off the page to torment him.
