With Marvel set to introduce Benedict Cumberbatch to their Cinematic Universe this October in Doctor Strange, Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen has been giving details of his as-yet unnamed villain. Speaking to Yahoo!, Mikkelsen said ‘he’s not a villain in that way – he’s a man who believes in something else than the hero. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t want to make the planet look wonderful or he wants to save the world as well, but he has a different way of doing it. He is the antagonist of course, but he’s not necessarily wrong.’

 Mikkelsen also discussed how the film works in relation to the Dr. Strange comics and other Marvel stories saying

‘if you look at the comic books, [they’re] quite different… I think that the film will be different [from the other MCU films], but not as different as the books are, because that was… more like an acid trip.’

We’ll find out exactly how different the film is to the comic when Doctor Strange hits cinemas October 28th.
