Battersea Power Station Party Pictures

Battersea Power Station Development Company (“BPSDC”), on behalf of the shareholders of Battersea Power Station, held its inaugural annual party last night, with Sir Elton John delivering a stirring performance to an audience of thousands beneath the famous chimneys of London’s legendary Battersea Power Station.

The celebrated ‘Rocket Man’ rolled back the years, blasting through a string of classics including The One, Your Song, and The Greatest Discovery, whilst also showcasing selected tracks from last year’s critically acclaimed album The Diving Board. The gig, inside one of the UK’s most recognisable landmarks, was the focal point of the party held to thank everyone that has made the Battersea development a reality and bring together people from across the community.

Musical support on the night came from 2013 BRIT Awards Critics’ Choice winner Tom Odell. The young singer-songwriter, a confessed Elton John fanatic, produced a moving performance featuring several tracks from his UK No.1 debut record Long Way Down, including top 10 UK hit Another Love.

Celebrities were out in force on the evening, including appearances from Grace Jones, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, Kit Harington, Rose Leslie, Tom Daley, Eliza Doolittle, Sharleen Spiteri, Philip Treacy, Jack Whitehall & Gemma Chan, Will Young, Lily James, Sally Greene, Theo Hutchcraft, Lorraine Pascale, Luke Evans, Luke Treadaway, Thomasina Miers, Nicky Haslam, Jade Parfitt, Ben Goldsmith, Sir David Tang, Detmar Blow, Erdem, Thom Evans, James Haskell, Martha Ward, Patrick Grant, Alan Yentob, Lilah Parsons, Zara Martin, Diana Vickers, George Craig and David Morrisey.

Other entertainment at the star-studded event included a dazzling 4D light show projected onto the façade of the Power Station, chronicling its history and showcasing its future.

Fantastic Four Reboot Casts Mole Man

Tim Blake Nelson has reportedly become the latest addition to the 20th Century Fox Fantastic Four reboot. The actor best known for turns in O’ Brother Where Art Thou & The Incredible Hulk will apparently be taking on the role of Harvey Eldar.

Eldar is a brilliant scientist who ultimately becomes the villainous Mole Man, leading an underground race of Moloids after being socially shunned above ground.

Although the new Fantastic Four Film won’t feature Mole Man, it will at least initially establish the character of Eldar with a view to possible sequels. Naturally their most famous nemisis Dr Doom is expected to be the main adversary for the new version of The Fantastic Four.
