Universal Plans Ted Sequel

Director Seth MacFarlane’s feature film debut Ted, proved a massive hit worldwide, taking on over $400 million at the box office alone. Unsurprisingly Universal wants to take advantage of that success and generally positive reviews to extend the series for at least another film. The eager studio has now officially green-lit immediate production on a Ted sequel.

In the first film, 27 years after a young boy’s teddy bear magically comes to life, he finds that his beautiful girlfriend is increasingly unimpressed that he’s still best buddies with his foul mouthed pot smoking furry companion. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kuins  and with MacFarlane himself voicing ted, the film fit neatly in the mould of MacFarlane’s past TV creations like Family Guy and American Dad.

There’s no details about plot or additional casting yet, but it certainly gives MacFarlane the commercial credibility to push things a little darker and further with the sequel.

Universal Confirms Bourne Legacy Sequel

Universal has confirmed that The Bourne Legacy will be followed by yet another Bourne adventure, despite the lacklustre fan reaction and box office performance of the last film. The Bourne Legacy only took $182 million worldwide, making it the least successful film in the series so far. Perhaps not coincidentally it also marked the first Bourne film made without Jason Bourne himself Matt Damon.

The Bourne Legacy sought to shift the series attention onto a new secret agent on the run, played by Jeremy Renner. Thought the film tied its story closely to the events of the previous trilogy of films, it did not feature any kind of cameo from Matt Damon, despite the predictions and expectations of many fans.

With news that the studio plans to continue the saga the immediate question on fans mind is whether the next film will feature a return for Damon. Producer Frank Marshall expressed openness to the possibility of introducing new or familiar elements to the franchise, but made it clear that Jeremy Renner will certainly be the leading man for the next film.

“We’re gonna follow Jeremy’s character, everything else is wide open. That’s the great thing about this now. The table is set to go any direction we want to. But we will, I’m sure, follow Jeremy and see what happens. Jeremy and Rachel [Weisz].”

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Together Again

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have reportedly begun to repair their relationship following a tearful reunion. The Sun newspaper a well-known but somewhat unreliable British tabloid is now claiming to have quotes form a source close to the couple that apparently confirmed that Rob has decided to forgive Kristen, as the Twilight pair try to rebuild their real life relationship in private.

“They pretty much couldn’t live without each other. Kristen poured her heart out to Rob and told him it was a one-off and a mistake. Rob sees it as Kristen made a really stupid mistake. After a lot of long tearful talks, they’ve worked it out. Rob can see how truly sorry Kristen is and has totally forgiven hr. They really do love each other”.

While many fans will be delighted by the news, as always there’s nothing official from either Rob or Kristen to substantiate the happy claims. Although recent internet chatter did suggest the couple may have had at least one secret romantic encounter in New York.

With promotion due to start soon for Breaking Dawn Part 2 all eyes will be firmly on the couple during interviews and public appearances for signs that they really are just as in love as ever.

Legal Action May Stop Jesse Eisenberg Film Night Moves

Jesse Eisenberg & Dakota Fanning are due to start filming a new film called Night Moves next month, however legal action could now halt production permanently on the project. Edward R. Pressman Films, the production company behind American Psycho, has brought a legal action claiming that the plot of the film is stolen form a book which it already owns the film right too.

The book in question is The Monkey Wrench Gang and Pressman already has Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman in line to direct their own adaptation of the novel. The theme of both projects is eco-terrorism and according to Pressman the two storylines seem to bear uncomfortable similarities.

Both scripts reportedly feature efforts to destroy a dam with a boatful of homemade fertilizer bombs, made by beer swilling former American soldiers. Time and a court judgment will tell whether or not real life legal woes will frustrate the plans of The Social Network star.
