Actress Saoirse Ronan has confirmed that recent rumors have for once proven true and that she has in fact auditioned for a role in the new Star Wars films. Having recently dismissed unfounded speculation that she was set to star in Avengers sequel Age of Ultron the actress was keen to stress that her involvement in Star Wars was by no means certain yet.

Ronan admitted she had read for a part but was quick to caution ‘so has everyone’. It’s unclear which part she may have been in consideration for although it’s expected the new trilogy will focus on the children of Han, Lea and Luke. In potentially unrelated news it’s also rumored there may be a new female villain for introduced in Episode VII.
